WORKSHOP: WRITING SCIENTIFIC DOCUMENTARIES

The International Science Film Festival will hold a workshop on “Writing Scientific Documentaries”, with the participation of professor and journalist Bienvenido León. The course will be held on October 20-21, 2008, in the city of A Coruña. In this workshop pupils will learn what techniques and resources can be used when talking about science on television, specifically in dealing with scientific documentaries.

Bienvenido León is an Associate Professor of Science Communication and Television Production at the University of Navarra, Spain. He has produced, written and directed a number of documentaries that have been awarded at international festivals such as Cartagena de Indias and Cuzco.

He is the author of the book Science on Television: The Narrative of Scientific Documentary, published by Pantaneto Press.
